COACH POLICY

  1. OBJECTIVE 

The Kaiapoi Netball Club has a responsibility to ensure all players are placed in teams 

  1. APPLICATION 

This policy is applicable to all coaches of Kaiapoi Netball Club 

  1. DEFINITION OF COACH CODE OF BEHAVIOUR 

Coaches are appointed to teams to ensure that coaching and development opportunities are available to players as may be appropriate 

  1. ACCESS TO INFORMATION 

A Coach is appointed by the Committee of the Kaiapoi Netball Club and you must meet the following requirements in regard to you conduct as a Coach: 

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every player 

  • Ensure the players time spent with you is a positive experience 

  • All players are deserving of equal attention and opportunities 

  • Respect the talent, development stage and goals of each individual players and assist them to reach their full potential 

  • Be fair, considerate and honest with players and be a positive role model 

  • Be professional in language, manner and preparation and accept responsibility for your actions 

  • Display control, respect, dignity and professionalism to all involved with the sport - this includes opponents, coaches, officials, administrators, media, parents and spectators 

  • Maintain or improve your current coaching through ongoing education. Refrain from any form of personal abuse which includes verbal, physical and emotional abuse  

  • Be alert to any forms of personal abuse directed towards your player from other sources whilst players are in your care 


5. PROCEDURE 

  • Provide a safe environment for training at facilities and in competition 

  • Ensure equipment and facilities meet safety standards 

  • Equipment, rules and the environment need to be appropriate for the age and ability of the players 

  • Provide a training programme which is planned and builds throughout the season 

  • Maintain appropriate records 

  • Operate within the rules and spirit of your sport 

  • Show concern and caution towards sick and injured players and provide a modified training programme where appropriate 

  • Seek medical advice when required. 

  • A medical certificate must be produced to allow a player to take the court after a serious injury 

  • An end of year report to be submitted to the Administrator before Prizegiving
