  1. DEFINITION

To support our aim to make Kaiapoi Netball Club Inc. as inclusive as possible. We will make no assumptions about what people are able to do.

We will:

  • Talk to, listen to and follow the lead of disabled people about ways our Club can be made safe and accessible to them

  • Focus on what they can do - rather than what they cannot do

  • Treat all disabled people as individuals

  • Make adjustments to our ways of doing things including coaching, equipment and environment

  • Be upfront if modifications, adjustments are not reasonably possible

  • Communicate and share information

  • Ensure people of all abilities are recognised for their contributions and achievements

  • Ensure disabled people can participate in our activities without being subject to discrimination, bullying and harassment

If you are a disabled person or you are the parent/guardian/whanau of a disabled person let the Club know what we can do to make sure you or your family member/whanau feel included and how your needs can be met e.g. modifications. This can be brought to our attention by meeting with our Administrator directly to discuss or a committee member you are comfortable with.

Always raise any concerns you or your family /whanau are experiencing or ideas to make the Club more inclusive and welcoming.

Kaiapoi Netball Club will do its best to accommodate you or your family member/whanau’s needs.
